Community
Mackay North State High School values and contributes to the local community at large in many ways including performances by our internationally recognised school Marching Band at relevant local, state and international events. Our industry partnerships, championed by the Hospitality and Manual Arts Departments, not only support the community but also provide valuable training opportunities to our student body.
Communication with parents
Parents can expect to receive regular emails directing them to the fortnightly newsletter which will include valuable information on student activities and achievements. You may view these newsletters at any time on this Website. Additional information sheets are also provided for special events, camps and excursions. Parents should check with their students to ensure that these communications are delivered home. Student diaries are also used by teachers and parents for messages and communication.
Reporting
Parents are invited to visit or contact the school at any time to discuss their student's progress or welfare. Please make an appointment through the school office (or email your student's teacher) to avoid disappointment. Interim report cards are issued after Term 1 and Term 3 with formal student reports being issued at the end of each Semester. Parent-teacher interviews are scheduled twice a year – after the interim report in the middle of Semester 1 and at the beginning of Semester 2.
